Why it's here: Because a club that cannot equip a blind member is a club with a gap in it, and this is the clock that closes it. The Echo speaks the time aloud at the touch of a button — your own remaining time, or your opponent's — so a player who cannot read the display can still manage the clock themselves, which is the whole point.

It is the DGT 3000 underneath, so it does everything the championship clock does and connects to a DGT e-Board the same way. Braille buttons, a high-contrast colour scheme, an audio quick guide, and two earpieces with independent volume so the announcements do not disturb the board next to you. All spoken output is in English.
